I am a very experienced Public Health Physician, with over 30 years experience, especially in Health Protection. I have held senior posts in Public Health in the UK and Ireland, most recently as the National Clinical Director of Strategic Public Health in Ireland.  I was previously the Director of Health Protection in Ireland and head of Public Health, and led Pandemic 2019 Public Health response and enhanced workforce capabilities across national and regional Public Health.  I led the transformation of Irelands Cervical Cancer Screening Service from 2018-2020. In Northern Ireland's Health Service I have held consultant posts since 1997, most recently as Deputy Chief Medical Officer for Public Health, and including working at Department of Health as lead for strategy and policy on health protection.  From 2009 -2018, I was head of Health Protection in Northern Ireland and adviser to the Chief Medical Officer on Health Protection.  Since commencing my career in Public Health Consulting I have undertaken project work for a range of clients, including WHO and the European Commission.   Most recently  I have led the review of Public Health Training and Public Health Workforce in the Gulf States. I specialise in work that supports Public Health Development, offering expertise in training materials development, strategy creation, service reviews, emergency preparedness and project support. My mission is to transform public health services to enhance community wellbeing.
